In creating a new logo for the URJ Camp Newman Winter Camp, I was struck by how NOT snowy Santa Rosa California is, and sold the powers-that-be on the idea of an ironic snowglobe, something to call out the aforementioned lack of snow with a wry grin.
Surprisingly, they went for it, and then the biggest issue was how much detail to put in, as well how to make the snow globe less “christmas-y” in this instance.
I think, in the end, that we achieved a solidly iconic logo that jumps out at you from a long ways away! The blue color scheme was easy to pair up and print, and created a very visible identity system.
Pen and pencil comp, vector illustration final.
