Taza Chocolate is one of the best-kept secrets in the culinary world, although with the growth of Boston’s Public Market as a true “go-to” destination for east coast foodies, the secret won’t stay underground too long.
The Origin Bars are Taza’s best product, and they were due for a band refresh. Presented here is a design exploration for the line: lighter packaging, highlighted by the organic Taza “star” (slightly different for each bar) and multi-hued creatures native to the region that their fair-trade cocoa comes from.
The text treatment is classic but unrefined, earthy and textured, much like the chocolate inside. The Taza star remains a focal point on all the packages, but is strikingly distinctive and sub-brands each bar. The number in the Taza star indicated the percentage of cocoa in the chocolate, from the darkest (87%) to the lightest (62%).
